Dhumba Lake | On the way to Mustang

Dhumba Lake is situated near the Jomsom Village, at the altitude of 2830 meters above the sea level on the base of the Nilgiri Himal (7125m.). This is a very important sacred lake the water of this lake is Emerald green.

It is believed that Guru Rimpoche Padhmasambhava had practiced the Buddhist rituals here. This lake is also known as emerald lake. 

According to a legend says the water of this lake turned red on its own and it was only after performing a long and devoted religious ceremony the lake water begun to return to its 

natural color. We can reach here about two and half hours hiking from the Jomsom Village.
